They project fema le humanoid forms from magical gemstones that are the core of their being. The Crystal Gems are Garne t, A methyst, P earl and Ste ven, a youn g half -human, half-Gem boy who inherited his gems tone from his mother, the Gems' former leader Rose Quartz. As Steven tries to figure out his powers, he spe nds his days with his human fath er Greg, his f riend Connie, other peo ple in Beach City, or the other Gems, whether to help th em s ave the wor ld or just t o hang out.
