This series is set in the fictional Be ach City, where ageless alien warriors, the C rystal Gems, liv e in an anc ient beachside temple, protecting the world from evil. They project female hu manoid fo rms from magica l gemstones that are the core of their being . The Cryst al Gems are Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl and Steven, a y oung half-human, half-Gem boy who inherited his gemst one from his mother , th e Gems' for mer leader Rose Quartz. As Steve n tries to figure out his powers, he spends his days with his human fat her Greg, his friend Connie, other people in Beach City, or the other Gems, whether to help them save the world or just to h ang out.
