剧情：
It's October 1914 and the w ar is not going well. The Germans are smashing th rough Belg ium and the allies are in retreat. Hazel Bellamy is o n a committe e with Lady Prudence Fairfax to find temporary h omes for the 5000 or more Be lgian refu gees that have com e to B ritain. Feeling an obli gation to se t an exa mple, Hazel agrees to take in a family a nd expecting an aristocr atic famil y of 3, receives an extended family of 5 peasant farmers who speak no Engl ish. They take residen ce in the se rvant s' quarters but with the language barrier, it all pro ves to be a bit mu ch for both side s. The servants find t he refugees odd in their taste s and their r efusal to take a bath in particular offen ds them. Re scue of a sort comes from Georgina who returns from a weekend away and havi ng been schooled in Switz erland, is a fluent French s peaker.
