剧情：
Ralp h Burton is a miner who is trapped for se veral da ys as a result of a c ave-in. When he finally m anages to dig hi mself out, he reali zes that all of mankind se ems to have been destroyed in a nuclear ho locaust. He travels to New York City only to find it deserted. Making a life for h imself there, he is fl abbergasted to eventually f ind Sarah Crandall, who also managed to sur vive. Together, they form a close friendship until th e arrival of Ben son Thacker who has man aged to pilot h is small boat i nto the city';s harbo r.
