Júlio César stands on the ledge of a 20-story building poised to ju mp when he 's sudd enly joine d by a myste rious, d isheveled strang er, a "dreamsell er,"; whose m ission is to convince people to love life. A philosophi cal dialogue follo ws as the st ranger talks Julio down from th e ledg e and invit es him to become a d reamseller. At first Júl io views the journey as a ";sociological experiment," but he soon begins to believe. Others join, and the &qu ot;band of misfit s" unde r the tute lage of th e dr eamse ller visit sites as diverse as a retirement home and a funeral, delivering a lesson each place. The dreamseller points out the madness in m odern so ciety and invites others to embr ace his ideals.
