Júli o Césa r sta nds on t he ledge of a 20-sto ry building poised to jump when he's suddenl y jo ined by a mysterious, dishe veled strang er, a "dreamseller," whose mission is to c onvince people to love life. A philosophical dialogue follo ws as t he s tranger talks Julio down from t he ledge and invites him to become a dreamseller. At firs t Júlio views the journey as a "so ciological e xperiment," bu t he soon begins to believe. Others join, and the "ban d of misfits" under the tutelage of the drea mseller visit s ites as diverse as a retir ement home and a funeral, de livering a lesson each place. The drea mseller points out the madness in modern soci ety and invites others to emb race his ideals.
