Get Sm art, Agai n! is a made-for -TV movie based on the 1965-1970 NBC/CBS televi sion series, Get Sma rt!, w hich originally aired Februar y 26, 1989 on ABC (ironically, the network that rejected the original pi lot for th e Get Smar t! TV series). It has subsequently been releas ed twice on DV D by diff erent publis hers. In the video release of the movie, the background canned laug hter (pre -recorde d laughter added later to the soundtr ack), is absent. Overv iew Differences betwee n Get Smart, Again! an d The Nude Bomb The film is no t as well known as the earlie r theatrica l release, T he N ude Bomb, a lso based on Get Smart, but w as better rec eived by fans of the original program. U nlike The Nude Bomb, which featured only the charac ters of Smart, The Chief (with Dana Elcar repla cing the dec eased Edward Platt) , Age nt 13 (Dave Ketchum in the series, portrayed by Joey F orman in The Nude Bomb, who had pla yed the ch arac ter Harry H oo in the series) and Larrabee, Ge t Smart, Again! featured all of th e survivin g original cast r eprising their roles. The tone and fe el of Get Smart, Again! we re also closer to that of the original series. Get Smart, Again ! was written and produced by Leonard Stern, who was a producer of the original seri es. One e lement of the Nude Bomb ig nored compl etely was the renaming of CONT ROL as PITS i n the earlier film; although as CONTROL is said to have di sbanded in the 1970 s, it 9;s not impossi ble for both CO NTROL and PITS to exis t within the co ntinuity of the franc hise. Barbara Feldon 39;s c haracter, 99, makes a reference to T.H.R.U.S.H., the evil organization in The Man Fr om U .N.C.L.E. , a show on which Feldon guest-st arred. Theme m usic Get Smart , Again! als o reprises the TV program39;s original them e music and openi ng credit sequence, which were absent fro m The N ude Bo mb. In this case, however, th e corridors were cove red in cobwebs and the phone-booth elevator t hat led to CONTROL hea dquarters worke d in reverse, causing Smart to be thrown to the top of the booth. Synopsis Maxwell Smart, acting a s a protocol office r since CONTROL w as disbanded in the early 1970s, is reactivated as a coun terintelligence ag ent by C ommande r Drury (Kenneth Mars) of the Unite d State s Intelligence Agency. KAO S, lo ng con side red defu nct, has been revitalized by a corporate takeover. Its fir st scheme involves t urning a forgotten American scientist and using his weather control machine to exto rt $250 billion US d ollars from the United Stat es G overnment. Drury, convinced tha t only Sma rt has the exper tise to c ombat KAOS, gives him cart e blanche to reactivate former CO NTROL agents to assist him i n his task. Along with Drury's bumbling ai de, Beamis h (Stev e Levitt ), Smart recrui ts Larrabee (who, beli eving that h e was under orders from Rich ard Nixon to stay at his post unt il relie ved, has bee n living in his o ffice in the now-a bandoned CONTROL headquarters tending his office pl ants), Agent 13, Hymie the Robot (now employed as a crash test dummy) and ultimatel y, hi s wife 99 (Barbara Feldon) to find the secu rity lea k that allow ed the scientist to defect, locate the weat her machine an d disarm it. They are oppo sed by KAOS moles within the USIA, who are able to pre dict Max's every m ove w ith t he aid of stolen co pies of 99' ;s unpublis hed memoirs . The visible head of the KA OS scheme is rev ealed to be Max's old neme sis, S iegf ried, but he is merely the agent of a higher executive whom even he has never met. This higher power is finally revea led as Nicho las Demente (Harold Goul d), 99's publisher, who intends not only to extort t he mon ey but a lso to create weather that will keep people e ternally in doors a nd interfere with television recept ion, for cing millions to entertain them selve s by buying D emente 39;s b ooks and public ations. Come dic style The script is littere d wit h typica l Maxwell Smart verbal gags, and large portions of the plot s erve only as s et ups for Get Smart!- style sight gags (such as a duel betw een Max and a KAOS hitman u sing remote controlled file cabinet drawers). The film also fe atur es the array of biza rre gadgetry and political sati re that were hall marks of the original series. Th e cone of silence has been superseded by &q uot;Hover C over&q uot; where a meeting is held on a rooftop with three helicopter s ho vering ov erhead. The fail ure of Hover Cover leads to the development of "The Hall Of Hush",a soundproof room where wo rds pri nt out s ilently in m id air, a success at first un til the wo rds begin to print fo rward, backwa rd an d on top of each other. Max chang es the well known qu ote "Dr. Livingstone I P resume" ; to & quot;Dr. Hottentot I Presume". 1995 revi val The relative success of the film prompt ed the deve lopment of a short-lived 1995 weekly series on FOX, al so titled Get Smart, with Do n Adams and Barbara Feldon reprisin g their charac ters as thei r bu mbling son, Zach (Andy Dick), becom es CONTRO L';s star agent. 原班人马啊,好想看。TAT “我又给您装了两枚美人果,您不管是自己用 ,还是卖,都是可以的。”说到这 里,她顿了顿,笑 着道:“老祖,那个虎坤龟的大龟壳实在太大了,我们没人 能弄开,所以……这活就交给您了,回 头您弄好了,赏我一个趁手的龟盾就行!”
