剧情：
Aston (Robert Shaw), a q uiet, reserved man, lives alone in a top-f loor c luttered room of a small abandoned house in a poor London di strict. He befriends a nd takes in Mac Da vies ( Donal d Pleasence), an ol d derel ict who ha s been fired from a menial job in a café. In time Aston of fers h im a job as caretaker of the house. Ast on' ;s brother, Mick (Alan Bate s) - a taunting, quasi-sa dist - har asses th e derelict when his bro ther is away, countermanding his orde rs.
