Henry Fallo n, who is wheelchair boun d and i s sufferin g from a neurological disorder, a pparently commits suicide and Morse has mixed feelings w orkin g on th is case as he was once engaged to the dead man's wife, Susan Fallon. The b ody was found by his son-in-law Peter Rho des, a loca l anti ques dealer and t he victim's wife was in L ondon. When Fal lon's doctor advises Mor se th at Henry did n't have the phy sical capabilit y to hold a gun to his head, the police realize th ey may ha ve a murder on their hands. When the police are told that the b usiness arran gement b etween Fallon and Rhodes ha d fallen apa rt, they also have a su spect. Lewis is concerned that Morse is too c lose to M rs.
