剧情：
Ryan is a womanizing st ockbro ker whose unethi cal bus iness practices co st him his j ob and his trader's license. Unable to find an other job, he is forced to move in with his equally self-involved (and completely o blivious) girlf riend, Cindy, an insensitive advic e colum nist on the c usp of losing her own job due to h er poor advi ce and slo w work habits. Finding that the tr uth beh ind h is moving in has nothi ng to do with rom ance, Cindy runs o ff with another man. Ryan decides to stay in the apartment and earn a living by doing Cindy's job. Ryan establishes himsel f with C indy 's e ditor, Pag e, as Cindy's go-fer, collec ting Cindy 's paychecks and mail and delivering her columns. Initially as hopelessly inept as Cindy in giving advice, he nearly gets t he column canceled. However, he rapidly grows into the job an d the combination of forc ed introspection, research and the growi ng knowledge th at he is t ouching other people's lives transform s him. The c olumn becomes an amazing success . Rya n finds h is initially superficial at traction to Page growing into l ove, b ut he can not reveal his feelings whi le he is a deceptive fraud.
