M etal music, wet paint, and family are the pa ssio ns of Jesse, a struggling painter who live s a happy li fe with his wife, Astrid, and their pre teen daughter, Zo oey. And things look even brighte r when Jesse and Astrid are able to put i n a bid on their dream home - a huge p roperty in rural Te xas with a ba rn big enough for a proper art studio - after the price is driven down due t o the ho me's mys terious past. After the trio moves in, Jesse's work star ts takin g on a new, consi derably dar ker flavour - and things ge t ev en mor e ominous when Ray, the hulking, clearly unba lanced son of the de ceased fo rmer owners, appears on the doorst ep one night, clutchi ng a red electric guitar and asking to "return home."
