Danny s erved as p eeping tom to a childless couple just below his rented apartment. When he accidentall y entered the couple's room, he was mistaken by the wife as his own husband and she willingl y had sex wi th him. The s teamy affair had turned into an obsession wh ich led to the demi se of all the lead characters. W hat made the film good was it evoked the painfu l realities of livi ng below the average class during Philippin e Mar tial Law era, to the e xtent that people find other ways to pleasure th emselves. Also, the film succes sfully presented a negative consequence of overt sexual obsession. Never had the Philippines ever produced an indi e-li ke classic such as this . All ot her erotic movies made a fter ';Scorpio Nig hts' were cheap imitations. Even it s succe ssor, 'S corpio N ights 2 9; (wi th a different dir ector) fai led too much to live up to its predec essor .
