Just two weeks befo re Roya, a banned Iranian journalist , is set to emigrate f rom Iran to Denma rk at her husb and’s insistence, sh e encoun ters a quiet young girl. The girl see ms lost and doesn’t remember an ything . Roya t akes her in, unaware tha t the girl ha s abandoned her previous life and now has come to replace Roya. A coup le of days later, R oya finds o ut that she w ill be prohibited f rom leaving Iran unles s she sells out a colleague to the government authorities. Soo n after Roy a refuses to betr ay her friend, the you ng g irl steals Ro ya’s identi ty and takes over her life with the assis tance of Roya’s husband, Babak.
